Euro 2016: The good, the bad and the ugly of Roy’s Boys

ROY Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad could be a bizarre blend of hippy crack-taking, shisha smoking, boozed-up, hell-raising playboys mixed with good-as-gold, ultra-professional, clean living lads.

Football fans across the land will be trying to second guess who Hodgson takes to France – with everyone gunning for their own club favourites.
It’s one of the youngest, most exciting and apparently sensible group of players England have had for a long time.

But there are some in the mix who’ve been involved in some fairly questionable antics off the pitch.
There’s everything from hippy crack and shisha pipes to a horrific hoax video showing a bizarre oral sex act with a dog.
There are all kinds of rumours from the terraces of heavy drinking sessions and drug-fuelled parties from numerous England youngsters.
If true, this type of culture could have seriously bad repercussions for the squad’s chances of success and spoil the party for the thousands of adoring fans in France and back home.
Or could it?

England’s two most successful tournament squads since winning the World Cup in 1966 were notoriously wild off the pitch.
The Three Lions reached the semi-final of the 1990 World Cup and Euro '96 – and both squads were renowned for their party-hard lifestyles epitomised by Paul Gascoigne’s “dentist chair” night out.
While Fabio Capello’s 2010 England squad, notoriously sensible and alcohol-free, catastrophically flopped.
The key question with Roy’s squad then, is what course it will take – as the dynamic is arguably the most diverse we’ve ever seen.
We’ve got players such as Dele Alli, who could one day be King of Nigeria, squeaky clean Harry Kane who’s still with his childhood sweetheart and the notoriously workmanlike James Milner.
But on the other hand, we’ve got party animal Jamie Vardy, the unpredictable Ross Barkley and, let’s face it, we all know about Wayne Rooney’s history off the pitch.
So who will make the cut and which personalities will come out on top?
Arsenal supporters are keen to see star midfielder Jack Wilshere in the squad.
But his reliability has already been doubted. Only months ago, he caused outrage when he was caught smoking a shisha pipe.
And Manchester City starlet Raheem Sterling also has a sticky history off the pitch – even beingpictured apparently inhaling nitrous oxide.
But there could be even more because we’re in for a monumental summer of sport.

England fans could face trouble in the “Kalashnikov capital” of Marseille but the unfortunate hoax Kyle Walker was subject to could make life even more uncomfortable for Three Lions supporters.
The sick video emerged on social media last year claiming to show the defender’s girlfriend receiving oral sex from a dog.
And it could be gold dust for opposition supporters looking to get one over on the English in France.

Daily Star Online approached Walker’s club Tottenham for comment and was told that “neither party” named in the video was involved.
“It is a sick hoax,” a spokesman said.
In the clip, a woman with brown hair lay on a bed as a dog, thought to be a pug, performed a sex act.
Walker clearly hasn’t done anything untoward and fiercely denies any association with the video.
But try telling that to Welsh, Northern Irish or any other drunken fan looking for something to chant at the Three Lions.
Euro 2016 kicks off on June 10 and we'll be able to enjoy a month of world class football.
The Three Lions are at 9/1 to win the competition, according to Ladbrokes.
