ISIS plotting Friday 13th horror? Dreaded day marks six month anniversary of Paris attack

IT'S six months to the DAY the Paris terror attacks unfolded – and there are fears Islamic State could be plotting a Friday 13th horror show to mark its anniversary.

Friday 13th is considered an unlucky day in the West – and millions of people will be making sure they are extra safe when walking to work this morning.

And while today is a day of dread, it has even more significance.

It marks exactly six months since ISIS gunmen slaughtered 129 people on the streets of Paris and in the Bataclan concert hall in November last year – which also happened to fall on Friday 13th.

Europe has been on high alert ever since – and security and defence chiefs say an attack in the UK is not a question of if, but when.

Earlier today it emerged a tourist from Afghanistan was detained along with two other men after pictures of potential targets in London, Paris and Rome were found on mobile phones.

Other photos on Hakim Nasiri's phone included Buckingham Palace, the Shard and the Premier Inn near Westfield shopping centre in Stratford.

The cell was allegedly planning attacks in France, Italy and Belgium as well as on Rome’s Colosseum. 

This week a terror drill was carried out at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The scenario involved a lone-wolf terrorist carrying out an explosion at the shopping centre based on an ISIS-style organisation attacking the public.

Assistant commissioner Mark Rowley warned in March how ISIS – also known as Daesh – is plotting an enormous attack on the UK. 

Mr Rowley said in recent years police foiled plots to kill members of the police and security forces.

But he said: "In recent months we've seen a broadening of that, much more plans to attack Western lifestyle, and obviously the Paris attacks in November.

"Going from that narrow focus on police and military as symbols of the state to something much broader.

"And you see a terrorist group which has big ambitions for enormous and spectacular attacks, not just the types that we've seen foiled to date."

A propaganda released by ISIS in January taunted Britain as the next target by featuring crosshairs over Big Ben, Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. 

The date has also got online conspiracy theorists chatting.

Crackpot YouTube user HellWarz Live claims to have predicted the Boston marathon bombings in 2013 and the Paris atrocities.

And he believes an attack will be carried out at a Catholic Bishops conference in the US today.

Other doom mongers fear either a terrorist incident or a deadly natural disaster will unfold.

Another user has uploaded a video urging viewers to beware of Friday 13th.

They claim a new film called AmeriGEDDON, released today and focuses on an attack on the nation's energy grid, is prophetic and will result in chaos.
