RUSSIA is preparing to test-fire a nuclear weapon so powerful it could obliterate an entire nation.

The Satan 2 missile is the most powerful ever designed and its sophisticated stealth technology will help it dodge enemy radar systems.

It is expected to be capable of delivering up to 12 warheads and could destroy an area the size of Texas or France.

The terrifying doomsday weapon could cause panic among western leaders – as current missile defence technology is incapable of stopping it.

Only yesterday, David Cameron warned Brits that Brexit would threaten peace in Europe amid the Russian threat.

It comes just months after Daily Star Online exclusively revealed that Putin has ten times more nuclear weapons than NATO.

In the past year, Russia sent a record number of submarines to the British coast as Cold War fears reach boiling point. 

And the Russians have also been testing a vehicle that can fire nukes and sneak past enemy lines. 

The missile is expected to have a range of 10,000km – allowing Moscow to attack all British cities and even America.

Its official name is the RS-28 Sarmat and it will replace ageing Soviet R-36M missiles which NATO military experts nicknamed “Satan”.

Russia will test fire the weapon this summer.

Moscow expects them to be in active service before 2020.
