Crystal Palace up offer for Christian Benteke: Club edge closer to Liverpool's valuation

CRYSTAL PALACE have upped their offer for Christian Benteke.

Christian Benteke
BID: Palace want to land Liverpool's Benteke
The south London side want the Liverpool striker to spearhead their attack next season.
Palace put £25m on the table last week but the Reds knocked them back.
And Starsport understands the Eagles will now slap down a £27m offer, which could rise to £31.5m.
Liverpool want to recoup most of the £32.5m they paid for Benteke last summer.
Brendan Rodgers bought the big Belgian from Aston Villa but Jurgen Klopp quickly decided he wasn't for him when he took over in October.
Alan Pardew is ready to splash the cash this summer to get Palace back firing in the top half of the table.
The club looked to be on course for a top ten finish last season, but slumped towards the relegation zone after Christmas.
And Benteke is seen as the next key signing to help the club cement themselves as a big hitter in the top flight.
Palace sold Dwight Gayle to Newcastle for £10m last week, freeing up a spot for the Belgium international at Selhurst Park.
