JOSE MOURINHO has officially started work as Manchester United manager.
The former Chelsea boss arrived at the club's Carrington training complex to start work this morning.
He travelled to Manchester by train on Sunday night and told fans via Instagram, "I am here/UNITED we can" as he arrived.
Van Gaal guided United to FA Cup glory but only managed a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League and missed out on a place in the Champions League.
United have added striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Eric Bailly to Mourinho's squad whileBorussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to follow.
Mourinho, accompanied by goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro, was pictured on Monday leaving the Lowry Hotel in Salford and stepping into a Mercedes people carrier.
A vehicle with the same registration was filmed arriving at the AON Training Complex around 30 minutes later and it is understood that he is now inside the building.
Former United midfielder Paul Pogba has also been heavily linked with a return to the club.
