Harry Styles unveils shorter hair for real – but fans are left divided

HARRY Styles has been teasing fans with his new do for some time now.

Between the Instagram post which sees him clutching his severed ponytail and the contestant stream of appearances in hats, it's safe to say One Directioners have been left chomping at the bit when it comes to the heartthrob's new look.

And finally we've been given a peek at the Drag Me Down crooner's chopped tresses via good old Twitter.

The pic, although taken through bars, reveals a classic short back and sides – a marked departure from the long, curly locks that have become the pop star's signature look.

Still, there's no denying he looks pretty sharp.

"There it is ladies and gentleman, the moment the internet broke," the accompanying captions reads, anticipating the frenzied response from social media.

Alas, the transformation doesn't seem to have gone down too well.

"I need to be alone," one user wrote, alongside a crying emoji.

"Why would he do this?! Dropped the ball here," another added.

"This is a travesty," a third chimed in.

Reports have suggested that Harry's new look is for his role in the upcoming film Dunkirk.

Meanwhile his locks will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to children across the UK and Ireland that have tragically lost their hair while undergoing cancer treatment.

"A little while back he had expressed an interest in supporting us… And then all of a sudden he did it," the charity's co-founder and manager Wendy Tarplee Morris confirmed on This Morning.

Let's be honest – Harry could step out with a plastic bag on his head and he'd probably still look dreamy.
