This everyday item is killing your sperm

YOU might be frying your swimmers without even realising.

SpermDANGER: You could be ruining your sperm without realising it
Using your mobile phone for as little as an hour a day is “cooking” your sperm, new research reveals.
Putting your phone in your pocket, talking on it for 60 minutes every day or even sleeping with it next to you can significantly lower your sperm count.
Tests showed that the gadget can affect the quality of swimmers so much that it could potentially prevent men from fathering children.
IphoneWORRYING: Mobile phone addicted men had lower sperm counts
The study, published in Reproductive BioMedicine, analysed the sperm of 106 men over the course of a year.
It revealed that 47% of mobile phone addicts had drastically lower sperm counts than technophobes.
Researchers issued a warning to men who carry their phones in their trouser pockets.
And having the device just 20 inches away from your testicles may be seriously damaging your fertility.
Professor Martha Dirnfeld, who conducted the study at Technion University in Haifa, Israel, explained that electromagnetic waves were effectively cooking sperm.
She said: "We analysed the amount of active swimming sperm and the quality and found that it had been reduced.
"We think this is being caused by a heating of the sperm from the phone and by electromagnetic activity.
"This is a warning to men to change their habits to improve their chances of having children."
Man talking on phone WARNING: Chatting on your phone for an hour a day can reduce sperm count
The study’s lead author Dr. Ariel Zilberlicht added: "In light of the research findings it is certainly recommended to shorten the duration of calls, not to carry the phone near the groin, not to sleep next to it, not to talk while it is being charged — in fact, it is better to turn it off while it is being charged — and to use a headset or hands-free kit whenever possible."
These findings support previous research detailing a link between phone use and plunging male fertility rates.
Infertility consultant Professor Gedis Grudzinskas advised lads to move their phones further away from their manhoods.
He said: "Men need to think about their wellbeing and try to stop being addicted to their phones.
"If you wear a suit to work put the mobile in your chest pocket instead of close to your testes. It will reduce the risk of your sperm count dropping or dropping so much.
"And do you need to keep the phone right next to you on the bedside table. Some men keep their mobile in their shorts or pyjamas in bed. Is that really necessary?"
, according to research from the Department of Growth and Reproduction at Rigshospitalet.
