Pep Guardiola: Sergio Aguero doesn't know how good he is

Pep Guardiola admits he’s having a mental battle with two-goal Sergio Aguero.
By Dave Armitage
Sergio AgueroSergio Aguero celebrates against West Brom
The City boss says his Argentinean star hasn’t got a clue just how good he is.
Aguero stamped his mark all over this game with two stunning strikes which proved the real game changers.
And grateful Guardiola paid him the ultimate compliment by saying that, in the box, he’s as good as anyone in the world.
That’s not bad coming from a man who has worked with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski on a day-to-day basis.
But Guardiola revealed his biggest task is drumming it into Aguero that he can be a true king among strikers.
His two wonderful first half finishes ensured the Baggies were always kept at arm’s length.
And when they did rally back after the break then Aguero helped Ilkay Gundogan finish them off.

Guardiola dumped Aguero on the bench for the Champions League clash with Barcelona, a decision which spectacularly backfired.
He won’t be making that mistake when the Spanish giants roll into town tomorrow (TUES) and will no doubt tell his striker to mix it with the elite.
Guardiola said: “He has to believe how good he is and how much we need him. At the end I just said thank you to him.
“Without him we cannot achieve our target - it is impossible.
“In the box he is up there with the very best. When he is good everything can happen in our team.
“I am talking about he has to feel how important he is for us. “When he is happy of course all the team is happy.”
Guardiola appears to have a problem with Aguero’s perceived sulking when things aren’t going his way.

He added: “He is one the nicest players I ever trained in my career.
“It is not about how many he scores because we are happy with the scoring, if he doesn’t score it doesn’t mean I am not happy with him.”
So Guardiola’s six match winless run is over largely thanks to Aguero ending his six-game run without a goal.
It all left West Brom boss Tony Pulis gasping for breath and dodging the after-match press conference.
His No. 2 Dave Kemp explained the gaffer’s absence, joking: “He’s probably hanging himself somewhere!”
“Look, they haven’t come from the job centre these City players. They have paid a lot of money for these guys and they are very good.”
Two-goal Gundogan added: “The past couple of weeks have been hard to explain. Let’s say, the season starts now.”

Dejan Lovren: This is what Liverpool need to do to be champions

DEJAN Lovren’s reaction to scoring summed up Liverpool’s battle to become serious title contenders.
By Ian Winrow
Liverpool defender Dejan LovrenLiverpool defender Dejan Lovren thinks the Reds need to beat the small teams to finish high
The Croatian centre-back admitted he was ready to explode after cancelling out his early shocker that gifted Crystal Palace a route into the game.
Lovren made up for his blunder but the defender’s personal conflict mirrored the strengths of weaknesses of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Deadly going forward – Lovren reckons playmaker Philippe Coutinho is the best player in the country at the moment - they again looked vulnerable at the back at times.
Klopp and his players know they must strike a better balance if they are going to bring the title back to Anfield for the first time since 1990.
Lovren said: “If you want to be in the top four at the end of the season or be champion, you need to win the smaller games and even the next game against Watford.
“And then we will see against the big teams. But I think we have shown this year that we can play against the big teams, we are not scared.

Joel Matip
Joel Matip heads home for Liverpool
“I think the biggest opponent for us is us.”
He added: “When I scored, I was angry. I was definitely angry.
“The lads asked me in the dressing room, ‘What did you want to do when you scored the goal?’. I said I wanted to jump into the crowd. I don’t know why.
“I didn’t know what to do. Because I would say I didn’t deserve this. I said to myself it’s not possible, I am working too hard to do a mistake and to lose the game.
“I just forgot and I keep on moving on and I said I was angry and I wanted to score the goal.”
If Lovren and his team-mates keep that anger, they will be in with a shout – especially if Coutinho maintains this form.
Roberto FirminoRoberto Firmino celebrates scoring Liverpool's fourth
The Brazilian was the architect of Emre Can’s early opener, and crossed for Lovren and Joel Matip’s first half headers before Jordan Henderson took over the reins to play in Roberto Firmino for a superb fourth.
Twice Palace pegged the Reds back through James McArthur headers but Liverpool were simply too strong.
Lovren said: “In my opinion, yes, of course (Coutinho is the best player in league now). I have the pleasure to play with this guy. But it’s not an individual thing, it’s the team work today.”
A third successive defeat means Palace head to Burnley next week knowing they need to tighten up if they are to halt their current slide.
McArthur said: “We need to work on our defensive play. More and more pressure is on us with each game we don’t win.
“But there is belief in the changing room we can go to Burnley and get a result and from there it hasn’t been a bad start to the season. We can do that.

“Pressure is part and parcel of being a footballer. It’s the Premier League, you go on great runs, everyone expects you to win games and you obviously get a couple of bad results.
“One win changes everything and kicks you on for the rest of the season.”
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-2-3-1): Mandanda 7; Ward 5, Dann 4, Tomkins 4, Kelly 6; Cabaye 5, Ledley 6 (Puncheon 74); Zaha 6, MCARTHUR 8 (Campbell 86), Lee 6 (Townsend 66, 6); Benteke 7.
Subs: Hennessey, Flamini, Fryers, Delaney.
UP NEXT: Burnley (a), Premier League, Saturday.
LIVERPOOL (4-2-3-1): Karius 6; Clyne 6, Matip 6, Lovren 5, Moreno 7; Can 7, Henderson 8; Mane 5 (Origi 89), Lallana 7 (Wijnaldum 75), COUTINHO 9; Firmino 8.
Subs: Mignolet, Sturridge, Klavan, Lucas, Randall
UP NEXT: Watford (h), Premier League, Sunday.

Star Player: PHILIPPE COUTINHO – At times the Brazilian was unstoppable.

8 Vegetables That Aren’t Actually Good for You

Eggplant
Vegetables are essential to any healthy diet. From a young age, you’d hear mom or dad insist, “Eat your vegetables so you can get big and strong!”
Even as adults we try to find ways to sneak more vegetables into our diet, putting kale in our smoothies or sauteing mushrooms to go on our pasta.
Vegetables usually contain a high amount of nutrients, vitamins and proteins. They must be good for us, right?
In reality, it depends on what specific vegetable you are eating. Not all are as good for you as they seem.
Eggplant
Eggplant is known all over the world for its spongy texture. And, just like a sponge, it absorbs everything around it.
Eggplants can absorb the fatty seasonings around it. When you eat an eggplant, you may not know just how many calories you are actually consuming.
Eggplants also contain a plethora of oxalates, which can be problematic for those who suffer from kidney or gallbladder diseases.
Corn
Corn
Corn is an American favorite. It is usually served at the Thanksgiving table.
By itself, corn is fairly healthy. However, it is usually bathed in butter and salt before it is put on the table.
Because each kernel is so small, it is easy to overeat corn. And as we all know, everything is best in moderation.

Bell Peppers
Bell Peppers
Spicy! Like any other spicy hot food, bell peppers cause inflammation.
Those with arthritis, beware, as bell peppers can cause inflammation in joints.
Bell peppers are also apart of the nightshade family, which has concerned people for many years, as much of the nightshade vegetables are poisonous.
White Potato
White Potato
The white potato has more starch than nutrients. Eating too much starch is what causes fat gain.
Harvard even did a study and found that there is a correlation between eating potatoes and weight gain. Like corn, most potatoes are served to the public covered in butter, salt and grease.
White potatoes do not have as many nutrients and way more carbs than sweet potatoes.
Cherry Tomatoes
Cherry Tomatoes
If you have ever had a cold sore outbreak before, you might have been told to avoid acidic foods. Despite how healthy they are made out to be, tomatoes are one of the most acidic foods out there.
Eating these may contribute to cold sore outbreaks. Cherry tomatoes are also apart of the nightshade family, like bell peppers.
Non-Organic Celery
Non-Organic Celery
Celery is a negative calorie food because you burn more calories eating it than you do consuming it. But what are you actually consuming?
It was once reported that non-organic celery contains 67 pesticides. Like eggplant, celery has soft skin that is very absorbent. Most anything that celery is sprayed with or soaked in will become absorbed into the stalk, which is then eaten.
Non-Organic Spinach
Non-Organic Spinach
Just like celery, spinach is also heavily sprayed with pesticides. It has been linked to E. Coli outbreaks because the fertilizer many farms use on spinach is unsafe.
Buying organic can decrease these risks.
Non-Organic Cucumber
Non-Organic Cucumber
In order to preserve its moisture, all cucumber is coated in wax. The difference is that non-organic cucumbers are coated in synthetic wax and organic cucumbers are coated in non-synthetic wax.
Furthermore, organic cucumbers cannot contain any chemicals banned by the USDA. By consuming non-organic cucumbers, you many be consuming synthetic wax and harmful chemicals.

The Manchester City boss has been forced to call on Caballero because Claudio Bravo is banned after getting sent of in the 4-0 drubbing at the Nou Camp.
The 35-year-old will face up to Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez but Guardiola said: “Willy is ready. In his last game at Old Trafford he played really good and made one or two saves.
Pep Guardiola
Man City boss Pep Guardiola is confident of getting a result against Barcelona
Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis SuarezManchester City will come up against some of the best players in the world
“I have a lot of confidence in him that he will make a good performance. He has to be ready because he is going to face the best.
“Some of the best strikers in the world are in the same team in Barcelona. But I have a lot of confidence about his quality.”

10 Plant-Based Beauty Treatments to Use on Your Skin By Marni Wasserman

Avocado

Using avocado is an excellent, natural way to nourish and care for your body without any abrasive chemicals. Essential and extra-virgin avocado oil has long been used in beauty products such as hair conditioners, moisturizers, cleansers, and facials. This is because avocado is a rich source of several essential nutrients that refresh and moisturize your skin.
Scoop out the flesh of a ripe avocado, mash it in a bowl, and smear it on your skin for a nourishing mask. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes before washing it off.
437529.image1.jpg210

Coconut

Coconut oil, which you can buy in glass bottles, makes a great moisturizer from head to toe, particularly for dry lips and rough hands and feet. You can even use it on your scalp and for your hair.

437530.image2.jpg310

Raw Honey

Raw honey is incredible for your skin, thanks to its antibacterial properties and hefty serving of skin-saving antioxidants. Whether you’re looking for an inexpensive DIY solution or a powerful skin treatment, raw honey can help you regain your glow.
The best way to use honey is to apply it topically as is (undiluted). That way, your skin can soak up all of its goodness. After about 15 minutes, rinse it off. You may need two rinses to get it all off!
437531.image3.jpg410

Lemon Juice

Fresh lemon juice has many benefits when applied directly to the skin.
The acids in lemon juice may be irritating to some people, so be sure to dilute lemon juice with water before applying it to your skin:
Diminish the discoloration caused by scars, certain skin disorders, and age spots by applying lemon juice to the discolored area. It may be helpful to apply the lemon juice at bedtime and leave it on the skin overnight.
Use lemon juice on acne and blackheads to reduce the frequency and severity. If you leave lemon juice on the acne and blackheads overnight, be sure to wash it off in the morning.
Try lemon juice as a natural exfoliant; the citric acid acts as a gentle “skin peel” that removes the top layer of dead skin cells. This results in a smooth complexion when used regularly. It also helps brighten or lighten the skin, moisturizes and tones, and fights wrinkles.
437532.image4.jpg510

Apple-Cider Vinegar

Apple-cider vinegar is often recommended as a treatment for age spots and warts and as a hair conditioner, and it helps balance the pH of your skin and hair.
For age spots, use a mixture of one part vinegar to two parts water as a toner. You can also apply undiluted apple-cider vinegar directly to the spots. Preferably, you should do this several times a day for at least a month. Some people have even better results mixing the vinegar with either fresh orange juice or onion juice and applying it several times a day.
You can treat warts with apple-cider by soaking a small cotton ball in the vinegar and using tape or a bandage to keep the soaked cotton ball in contact with the wart for as long as possible. You can either do it in the morning and keep it on all day or do it before bed and wear it overnight.
We aware that the warts may turn black before falling off. Continue with the treatment for a further week, even if the wart looks to be gone, to make sure it doesn’t return.
Try doing a rinse of apple-cider vinegar after you shampoo instead of using conditioner. It makes your hair lustrous and soft without any harsh chemicals.
437534.image6.jpg710

Bananas

Bananas whose skins have a few brown spots are perfect for a face mask. This means your bananas are slightly soft and ripe. Bananas exfoliate like crazy and give new life to a dull complexion. They also moisturize and are great for all types of skin. Mush it up (add a little honey if you’d like) and rub it on your face. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse.
437535.image7.jpg810

Almonds and Oats

Toss either almonds or whole oats into the food processor and turn them into a powder. Then you can add water and use them as a facial scrub. They moisturize, exfoliate, and cleanse. Almonds are also rich in vitamin E, which has nourishing properties to soothe skin and promote wound-healing.
Instead of water, add some non-dairy milk and turn these scrubs into a luxurious way to soothe dry or sunburned skin. Rub gently on the skin, being careful not to be too abrasive.
437536.image8.jpg910

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a centuries-old beauty staple. Moisturize your face with it, condition your hair with it, or add some salt to make the easiest hand scrub ever.
A good rule of thumb when buying olive oils (or any oils, really): Go for extra virgin, expeller pressed, and organic when you can. They’re higher in antioxidants, contain fewer chemicals, and aren’t as “messed with” as more-processed kinds.
437537.image9.jpg1010

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one of the most nourishing plants on the planet for the skin.
It’s an excellent moisturizer for the skin and helps to rejuvenate, hydrate, and keep your skin looking fresh.
Aloe vera has antimicrobial properties, making it ideal to treat acne.
It’s an amazing natural antioxidant.
It’s helpful in retaining skin’s firmness, making it a great anti-aging skin cream.
Aloe vera gel or meat, from the whole leaf, is also known to reduce pain and inflammation both internally and externally. It’s most helpful with sunburns, insect bites, rashes, eczema, and cuts and wounds.
Just pull off a leaf and cut it open, extract the gel, and moisturize away!

Jurgen Klopp opens up on Liverpool's title chances: Why this claim is wrong

JURGEN KLOPP claims Liverpool's lack of European football is not an advantage in the Premier League title race.

The Reds have been tipped to win their first crown since the league began in 1992.
Klopp's men are playing fluid football and find themselves joint-top of the table, level with Manchester City and Arsenal.
And most believe they have a major advantage in the title race due to their lack of European football.
Liverpool's title rivals City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United play in the Champions League and Europa League this season.
But Klopp disagrees with the idea his side have an advantage, claiming it could even hinder the Reds.
“Everyone talks about this but I think 80 to 90 per cent of the time in Europe, the teams becoming champions are in the Champions League,” he said.

“That’s how it is. Why? Because they have quality, they can rotate, they can rest whenever. It’s not too cool when you are not successful.
“Sometimes it’s an advantage, but in the end, why does a team win the league with all these intense games in midweek? Maybe they find an answer.”

This key Antonio Conte change has turned Chelsea around - pundit

CHELSEA'S players are buying into Antonio Conte's philosophy.
By James Walters
Antonio Conte has impressed since taking over at ChelseaAntonio Conte has impressed since taking over at Chelsea
That's according to pundit Jamie Redknapp.
The Blues have had an impressive start to the season and find themselves fourth in the table, just one point off joint-leaders Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Conte's men have won four out of their last five games after their 2-0 victory against Southampton yesterday.
And former Liverpool star Redknapp has hailed Conte, claiming the Italian has instilled hunger in his side.
"You have only got to look at how much ground Chelsea's players covered on Sunday to see how they are buying into Antonio Conte's philosophy," Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.
"They ran 3.5 miles further than Southampton while four players - Marcos Alonso, Nemanja Matic, N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard - ran more than any member of Claude Puel's team.

"Conte has instilled so much hunger in this side - the likes of Hazard and Diego Costa look fitter and sharper than last season.
"Neither Manchester United nor Southampton could knock Chelsea off their stride and it will take a team who are prepared to get on the front foot against them to do so."
