Wenger had banned mobile phones during training sessions when he arrived at the club.
"A mobile phone went off while he was trying to tell us off," Parlour wrote.

"Then, not long after, about four mobile phones went off at the same time and that was it- he'd had enough.
"'Right, that's it! No more phones. The next phone that goes off there will be a £10,000 fine'.
"And he was serious. So everyone turned off their phones, pronto."
But on one particular occasion just a few days later, the Frenchman broke his own rule.
"The stretching was always very quiet," Parlour continued.
"You couldn't hear anyone talking, no chatting, it was just a time for relaxing and almost meditating.
"All of a sudden, a phone goes off. This is two days after the threat of a £10,000 fine.
"It kept ringing and ringing. All the lads started panicking.
"'Whose phone is that?' snapped Arsene. Nobody knew.
"Most of the players piped up that it wasn't theirs. 'Okay', said Arsene. 'It must be mine'.

"He walks to his bag, and lo and behold, it was his phone chirping away. He had a big smile on his face.
"'That's a £10,000 fine for me!'
"He broke the ice with that. He was an extraordinary character.
"I loved him to bits."
