Moment Boeing 747 crashes trying to land – killing all 62 onboard

THIS is the horrific moment a passenger jet smashed headfirst into the ground after missing a runway in Russia — killing all 62 people on board.
CCTV captured the moment a Flydubai Flight 981 travelling from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don in eastern Russia rocketed toward the earth and burst into flames after a pilot overshot the runway.
All passengers – including 33 women, 18 men and 4 children and – 7 crew members were killed in the tragedy. 
And there may have been three foreign victims aboard the plane, according to reports which have yet to be confirmed. 
A spokesperson for the ministry this morning said: “Unfortunately, they all died”.

A spokeswoman from the emergency services ministry said "The plane with 55 passengers and four or five crew on board, coming from Dubai, crashed as it came in to land at the airport in Rostov-on-Don.
The Boeing 737-800 jet crashed near the runway at 00:30 UK time, during a spell of bad weather.
Firefighters have since managed to put out the blaze caused by the crash, according to Russian news agency Tass.

About 100 rescue workers are at the site of the crash after reports of a fire or explosion on board.
Flights have been diverted diverted from the airport, which is near the Ukraine border. 
FlyDubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said: "Our primary concern is for the families of the passengers and crew who were on board.

Meanwhile Russian President Vladimir Putin has called providing assistance to the relatives of those killed a "priority"
A spokesperson for Boeing said: “We're aware of reports coming out of Russia and our team is currently gathering more details.”
