The BBC say that the Swede's free transfer to Old Trafford is now just days away.

Reports had emerged suggesting the former Paris St-Germain striker would not take a medical until next week.

However, this new information says it will be done and dusted by Sunday.

He is expected to sign a one-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a 12-month extension.

He could beat Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the race to become Jose Mourinho's second signing.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is now widely expected to join the Mourinho revolution at the Theatre of Dreams with German daily Bild saying it is a formality.

The Armenian will cost around £34.7m and will pen a four-year contract in Manchester.
