‘Stay in France you c***s’ England fans' message to Three Lions after Euro 2016 shame

IT looks like yesterday’s failure may have been just one step too far for Brit fans with furious supporters now telling the English side not to come home.

SHAME: England have been told to 'stay in France' by furious fans

Three Lions fans have slammed the England team after the shocking defeat at the hands of Euro 2016 minnows Iceland, who booted the superstar side out with a 2-1 victory.

Some fans are so incensed they are telling the England team to just “stay in France and never return”.

The crushing defeat sparked the resignation of Roy Hodgson and nationwide rage as England fans dealt with yet another disappointment – not having won a major tournament since 1966.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “What a waste of my precious time, don’t bother coming home. Stay in France.”

Another said “stay in France you c***s” while tweeting Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling.

A third added: “The English players might as well stay in France. Join Ligue 1, and never go back to England.”

England were left reeling after the crushing defeat to Iceland, a nation with a population of just 300,000, no professional clubs, and whose national side is managed by a dentist.

While there has been fury from fans, some are taking it with good humour – including a parody of Roy’s resignation speech set to the music from Titanic.

A BBC pundit even controversially branded the England side “overpaid nonces”.

The Three Lions have a history of choking at the last minute and tumbling out of tournaments in embarrassing fashion.

Wales are now carrying the flag for the home nations into the quarterfinals, with their players reacting with jubilation as England crashed and burned.

One Icelandic fan is offering the England free whale watching trips to calm their nerves as “the poor English players will anyways not be able to return immediately to England after the match as 60 million English football fans will be furious”.
