The Voice star shot DEAD outside concert while signing autographs

A STAR of the US version the BBC's hit talent show The Voice has been murdered by a crazed gunman.

MURDER: Christina Grimmie was murdered outside a concert hall while signing autographs.

Christina Grimmie died after being gunned down outside a concert hall where she had just performed.

The 22-year-old singer had just finished a gig and was outside signing autographs when she was shot after a show in Orlando, Florida.

The shooter was tackled by the singer's brother before he turned the gun on himself.

Christina, who starred on the US version of the The Voice, later died in hospital.

Celebs have starting issue tributes to the tragic singer.

Orlando's police force posted on Twitter: "With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie has died from her injuries."

Ms Grimmie's publicist said: "It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord."

Police have not yet named the attacker, but he was said to have been carrying two guns.

HORROR: Christina was shot in front of her brother while signing autographs.

A spokesman for the police said: "Detectives were told the suspect, who is not being identified at this time, walked toward Christina and shot her. Christina's brother immediately tackled the suspect stopping him from causing any more harm to Christina and her fans.

"During the struggle, the suspect shot himself. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene."

In 2014, Grimmie participated in season six of The Voice - finishing third. 

Adam Levine, her coach on the show, announced in the finale he was signing Grimmie to his label regardless of where she finished.

The band she was performing with, Before You Exit, said in a statement: “Words fail to describe how much Christina means to all of us. She was always a constant beam of light and energy into the hearts of everyone around her.

"Her carefree spirit and her laughter constantly lit up every room she entered and she always had this glisten in her eyes which was evident in her faith."

There has also been an ourpouring of grief from fans on Twitter.

One wrote "Genuinely can't believe this! RiP", another added "My heart was so heavy for Christina Grimmie. What a sick world we live!".

One other said "Sad to hear about the talented Christina Grimmie, she will be missed. A life worth celebrating".

COPS: Police hailed Christina's brother a "hero" after he tackled the shooter

Josh Call, who was working at a vegan hot dog stand outside the venue, told the Orlando Sentinel he heard about five gun shots.

Call said a security guard rushed to make sure others were out of the area. He said he waited a few minutes and went inside where he saw a female on the ground.

He said a man was on the floor in a pool of blood and face “completely disfigured.”

“I don’t think anyone expected something like this to happen. It was horrifying,” he added.
