Isabel Gentry – known to her friends as Izzy – was taken to hospital with a severe headache while she was in the middle of her AS revision.
The Year 12 student at Bristol's St Brendan's Sixth Form College, died on Friday last week.
She had tweeted about being rushed to hospital in an ambulance just two days before her sudden death.
The 16-year-old tweeted twice last Wednesday and wrote: "Lol I knew something was up.
“Did not expect I'd be rushed to hospital in an ambulance, how peak."
Ironically earlier on Tuesday evening, she retweeted a friend's tweet, which read: "I have such a bad headache but I need to revise."
Her close friend Eryn O'Connell also paid tribute on Facebook: "Life's taken from us so fast and so harshly, you were without a doubt one of the most bubbly souls going with an amazing energy, always x you brought so much life to us all and it will never be the same without you Izzy Gentry xx."
Avon Coroner's Court said the inquest into Ms Gentry's death is set to be opened next week.
The Government has rejected calls from more than 820,000 people for a meningitis B vaccine to made available to all British children.
