A WOMAN pulls off her pants and shouts at police in a bizarre standoff with the law.
She argues with officers, tries to grab something off their desks and even slaps her genitals at them.
Eventually they persuade her to put her shorts back on, but the bickering continues until the footage ends.
The peculiar scene reportedly unfolded at a police station in Ahmedabad, the largest city in India’s Gujarat region.
LiveLeak, the video sharing site where it was uploaded, gives no clue as to what she was doing at the station.
However, public nudity can be considered an obscene act under the laws of India and is therefore illegal.
It’s punishable with a spell in jail lasting up to three months, a fine, or a combination of both.
Some viewers, commenting on the video, have suggested the woman is in fact part of India’s transgender community.
The community, often identified by the Hindi word hijra, live on the margins of society and have few job opportunities open to them.
Many rely on begging or sex work to get by, and some have suggested this could be the reason for her run in with the law.
It comes after another woman stripped naked in front of police in a bid to avoid arrest after an epic car chase.
