LIVERPOOL midfielder Allan has admitted it was a dream come true to score playing for his country.
DREAM: ALLAN SCORED FOR BRAZIL UNDER-20S YESTERDAY
The 19-year-old found the net for Brazil Under-20s yesterday to help them to a 2-1 win over South Korea.
And the teenager expressed his delight after the game.
“It’s a great feeling,” he said.
“We’ve been working hard since we were kids to have the chance to represent our country. My family and I are very proud of it.
The Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool want to send Allan on loan to a ‘top league' for next season in the hope of securing him a work permit for the 2017/18 campaign.
New work permit rules brought in by the FA last year require Allan to have played 30 per cent of Brazil’s senior national team matches over the past 24 months to automatically qualify for a permit.
Clubs can make appeals for players who do not meet that criteria in which a points-based system is used which takes into account the transfer fee, wages and the number of minutes they have played in a ‘top league’.
The FA defines a top league as the six European leagues which provide the most players to the top 20 squads in the FIFA World Rankings and the two Central and South American leagues which provide the most players to the top 20 squads in the FIFA World Rankings.
