Klopp seen with Higuain agent, deal expected ‘soon’

Gonzalo Higuain Football365

Jurgen Klopp has been pictured with the agent and brother of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, as the forward has been linked with Liverpool.
Manager Klopp attended Argentina’s Copa America clash with Chile on Monday night and watched Higuain from the stands as the striker played 73 minutes in a 2-1 victory.
The Reds boss attended the game alongside Higuain’s brother and agent Nicolas, at Levi’s Stadium in California, with the 28-year-old subject of reported interest from Anfield.
The rumour emanate from beIN SPORTS USA, with seemingly no British outlet reporting on the link.
In a story claiming that Porto midfielder Hector Herrera – also linked with Liverpool on Tuesday – was headed to Napoli, it is claimed that Higuain is close to a move to the Premier League himself.
Herrera’s move to Napoli is ‘pending the Italian club’s sale of Higuain’, reads the article, which adds that the Argentinean’s move to Anfield ‘should go through very soon’.
It was reported in May that Higuain preferred a move to Liverpool over any other English club, although Manchester United are among the many others linked with the forward.
With Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings and Steven Caulker among the club’s many striking options – although Caulker is a) a defender, and b) on loan, and Benteke may well leave – it is surely doubtful that Klopp would sign a striker likely to command a fee upwards of £50m this summer.
