RYAN GIGGS has reportedly been told he can have any job he wants under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United - except becoming his assistant.
The Welshman has been left in limbo following Louis van Gaal's sacking last month.
He had been working under the Dutchman as his No. 2 but Mourinho is now in place and The Daily Mail say he is expected to appoint long-term colleague Rui Faria as his assistant at Old Trafford.
United are said to be desperate to keep Giggs who has been mulling over his future at the club.
The United legend has been at the club for 29 years but is wondering whether to go it alone and pursue his own managerial career.
If he stays at Old Trafford the 42-year-old will effectively be handed a demotion but he is said to be keen to work with Mourinho and gain some valuable experience from one of the best bosses in the business.
