Lionel Messi was once again on the bench for the World Cup finalists but they still had plenty to get past their opponents.
In the 13th minute Argentina took the lead through an Erik Lamela deflected free-kick which gave Carlos Lampe no chance.
And it was soon two as Ezequiel Lavezzi tapped home after a Gonzalo Higuain header was parried directly into his path.
The match was effectively over as a contest in the 33rd minute as Victor Cuesta netted his first ever international goal.
And just when Bolivia thought things couldn’t get any worse, Argentina decided to introduce Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi at half-time.
But to their credit they held firm and ensured they kept the score at a respectable level.
