YOU won't believe what shoots out of this bizarre brown object.
This viral video shows that sometimes even the ocean’s most fearsome predators need a helping hand in life.
The beginning of the clip shows a mysterious brown sack floating in a box of water.
A man then picks up the object gently and begins to open it slowly with a pair of scissors. He slices off one end and then places it back in the water.
Seconds later a beautiful black and white baby shark bursts from the sack and darts around frantically in the tank.
After buying a bamboo shark inside its egg from a pet store, the owner was told to cut the animal free once it reached a certain size.
In this video he carefully snips through the collagen fibers that make up the egg’s “shell”, releasing the tiny shark to thrash around to its heart’s content.
Often referred to as mermaid’s purses, the eggs of bamboo sharks are soft and flat and look a little like a crab's shell.
They are normally hidden among seaweed on the ocean floor, but sometimes strong currents cause them to wash up on the shore.
When the unborn sharks get swept up people are encouraged to help deliver the unique fish, before realising them back into the ocean.
