MANCHESTER UNITED manager Louis van Gaal is seriously thinking about quitting the club at the end of the season. Did I hear someone say 'Glory be to God'. Well that is the news coming out of Old Trafford.
Van Gaal's family are concerned about the pressure the 64-year-old is being put under and feel he would be better off away from Old Trafford. Should the Dutchman leave, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would be most likely to take over.
Van Gaal raised the possibility of quitting last month when United were enduring a torrid eight-game run without a victory. The former Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax boss complained about the scrutiny on him and angrily walked out of a press conference.
The reports claim Ryan Giggs is unlikely to be handed the job while Mourinho remains available.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League seven points behind leaders Arsenal.
The Red Devils host Southampton on Saturday at Old Trafford looking to close the gap on the Gunners as they look for their first title win since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
