Chelsea are hopeful that a deal for Alexandre Pato will be sealed with the next 48 hours, according to reports.
The Brazilian striker has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge over the course of the past few weeks after emerging as an option to bolster Guus Hiddink’s misfiring forward line.
Pato himself has reportedly agreed terms with the Premier League champions, and now it’s understood that the club is optimistic that he will be a part of the first team set-up within the next couple of days.
The 26-year-old is currently owned by Corinthians, who have made no secret of their desire to sell the former Selecao star for some time.
Pato spent the last two seasons on loan with the club’s divisional rivals Sao Paulo, netting 15 goals in all competitions during the 2015 season.
The player himself has already rejected a financially lucrative offer to move to China, with getting his career back on track in Europe his ultimate aim.
