Man downs beer in seriously strange way in jaw-dropping viral video

DOWNING beer is a task even seasoned drinkers can struggle with – but this is something else entirely.

Footage uploaded online shows a man necking a brew through his nose before a watching crowd.

With both nostrils in the nectar, he holds the glass to his face and is seen swallowing.

And before long he has emptied the glass down his schnoz, opening his mouth to prove he’s swallowed.

Though it is possible for humans to drink through their noses, doing so risks getting liquid in the lungs.

It’s also considered painful, with the lining of the nose far more sensitive to fluids than that of the mouth.

But some revellers claim it gets you drunk faster, with bar staff revealing it can leave drinkers on the floor in seconds.

Nick Tegadine from the Alcohol Problems Advisory Service warned against the practice after a fad for vodka snorting.

He said: "It will get you drunk more quickly than drinking vodka, which of course is why some people do it.

"But over time it will damage your nose. When you're collapsed on the floor you certainly do not look very clever

"The fact that you get drunk more quickly means you are more likely to have an accident and do things that you later regret."

He also told the BBC that the sensation of drinking through the nose was no more pleasant than taking nose drops.

It’s unclear where the latest footage was originally filmed, but reports indicate its from Lanzhou in China.

Another drinking challenge was taken on by competitive eater, the LA Beast, who tried to drink a gallon of curdled milk.
