MANCHESTER UNITED have come to an agreement for Benfica star Renato Sanches, according to reports.
RED HOT: Renato Sanches is in demand
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Red Devils will pay the Portuguese side £46.6m over four years for the 18-year-old.
That means United will have to pay to £11.6m-a-season until 2020.
It may prove to be good business with a host of top cubs said to be keen on Sanches.
Di Marzio tweeted: "Benfica's midfielder Renato Sanches is really close to @ManUtd for €60M [£46.6m] paid in four years."
United feel they have the deal wrapped up but they are yet to pass over any cash.
The delay revolves around Benfica being a publicly listed company and the transfer window not opening until July 1.
United's scouts have been in attendance at almost every Benfica match this season and Sir Alex Ferguson is said to have given the thumbs up to the deal.
Sanches' arrival might have sent out a big clue that Jose Mourinho is heading to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford because the pair share Jorge Mendes as their agent.
United already have a good working relationship with the super agent and this latest deal may come with Mourinho's blessing.
