NASA will make a major announcement about discoveries made by its Kepler Space mission.
Alien hunters have been sent into a frenzy after NASA revealed it has major announcement coming.
The space agency will reveal the latest discoveries from its Keplar telescope which has been trawling the universe in search of life.
In statement NASA confirmed: "NASA will host a news teleconference at 17:00 UTC Tuesday, May 10, to announce the latest discoveries made by its planet-hunting mission, the Kepler Space Telescope."
To add fuel to the conspiracy theorists fire, top NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan indicated life was out there.
Ms Stofan said: "I think we’re going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade.
"I think we’re going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years."
The £411 million Kepler telescope, launched in March 2009, is on a mission to find Earth-like planets that could support life.
So far the unmanned spaceship has located more than 1000 alien worlds to date, although it's though only 100 are like our own planet.
The high-tech craft finds other worlds by recording tiny brightness dips caused when a planet crosses a star’s face – like our planet does when it orbits behind the sun.
Last year NASA revealed that it had found a new Earth-sized world that had the potential to contain alien life.
The planet, named Kepler-452b, sits in a habitable zone of a star that's similar to our sun and has perfect temperatures for water and life.
What's known about the planet is that it's about 60 percent larger than Earth, placing it in a class of planets dubbed "super-Earths".
Similar to the Earth, Kepler-452b orbits its star every 385 days with temperatures identical to our sun.
NASA scientists are keen to point out that they can't be certain if Kepler-452b can support life or not, but this appears to be the closest planet yet to our own.
It comes as Daily Star Online revealed 2016 will be the year the truth behind the existence of aliens will be disclosed to the world.
