A DOCTOR’s son who dialled 911 when Prince was found dead in a lift faces an “illegal pills” probe.
Police will quiz Andrew Kornfield over the drug Suboxone he brought for the star.
Police will examine if he was properly qualified to administer the drug and if he was allowed, under tight US laws, to transport it from California over state borders to Minnesota.
His lawyer is battling to keep him out of jail, say US reports.
Kornfield’s dad Howard is a renowned addiction specialist, who had been set to treat Prince.
But he was busy and sent his his “practice consultant” son to “assess the stricken star and devise a treatment plan.”
Howard planned to follow his son to treat Prince 24 hours later.
There is no suggestion Andrew Kornfield did anything wrong.
US sources say the police probe will focus on three possible pills “abuses”.
They will look at if doctors overprescribed the Purple Rain star’s medication.
While aliases the singer and his doctors may have used and the pharmacies that made up the prescriptions will be investigated.
