Victoria Wood laid to rest in private service: 'It was full of laughter'

VICTORIA Wood has been laid to rest in a private service that was "full of laughter".

The  after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in late 2015.
And it has emerged that Wood was cremated yesterday at Golders Green Crematorium at an intimate service attended by close friends and family.
There were no cameras at the service, with family, including Victoria's children Grace, 27, and Henry, 23, wanting the day to remain private.

A source told The Sun: "It was a small and private affair, which is what Victoria wanted. The family were very conscious that they didn't want cameras.
"Julie [Walters] was one of her closest friends from the entertainment industry who attended.
"There was a strong element of humour as everyone knew that's what she wanted.
"She spent her life making people laugh so a light-hearted and celebratory tone was appropriate. The service was full of laughter."

Victoria was one of UK's most adored stars, with her shows including Dinnerladies going down in comedy history.
The Lanchashire-born actress was awarded both an OBE and a CBE, and was honoured with four BAFTAs out of 14 nominations.
