Gonzalo Higuain is not close to joining Liverpool

LIVERPOOL are not about to sign Gonzalo Higuain.

NO MOVE: Liverpool are not about to sign Gonzalo Higuain
The Daily Mirror reported last week that the Napoli striker was interested in a move to Anfield as he was keen to work with Jurgen Klopp.
It was claimed yesterday by beIN Sports that a deal was close to completion with Poto’s Hector Herrera set to replace Higuain at Napoli.
Speculation intensified after Klopp watched the 28-year-old in action last night as Argentina beat Chile in the Copa America.
But the Liverpool Echo report that there is no truth in the reports.
Higuain enjoyed a stunning season with Napoli, becoming the first player to score 36 goals in a Serie A campaign.
And his 38 goals in all competitions was more than Klopp’s current strikers - Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings - managed between them (36).

The Mirror added last week that while Higuain had already received several offers, none were from Liverpool and that lack of interest had surprised the player’s camp.
Liverpool have been without a regular source of goals since Luis Suarez departed for Barcelona in 2014.
