SERIE A minnows Crotone are exploring the possibility of signing Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli.
By Jamie Anderson
The Italy international spent last season on loan at AC Milan where he managed 23 appearances and scored just one solitary goal.
His agent, Mino Raiola, was told as early as February to find him a new home this summer, with Besiktas reportedly among his preferred destinations.
But the club president of newly promoted club Crotone, Rafaele Vrenna, has told Italian newspaperLa Gazzetta dello Sport why he thinks they could be a good fit.
Vrenna said: "How did the idea of wanting Balotelli come about? Because we have revived many players who then went back to the highest levels.
"Just look at the the Euros where there are six players who use to play for Crotone. We could be a sort of clinic for help.
"Balotelli is a great champion and has a wealth of world football but in recent years he's not done well."
