GREAT PAIR: Two women bare their breasts at Glastonbury 2016
Travel chaos and delays hit revellers arriving for the first day of the Glastonbury Festival on Wednesday.
They were greeted by deep mud as heavy rain turned Worthy Farm, in Somerset, into a boggy mire.
But some festival-goers were determined to have a good time – and stripped down to their bare essentials once they got inside.
PERKY: They certainly seem happy to have made it
BIT NIPPY OUT: Obviously it's warmer than forecast
Organisers were forced to tell visitors who were yet to set off to delay their journey to the festival after traffic jams left revellers stranded for hours.
Avon and Somerset Police said on Wednesday evening that they were working on a "new plan to get traffic moving".
The weather at Glastonbury was dry on Wednesday night and should be dry throughout Thursday.
Rain may not return until Friday evening.
LOOKING UP: Two girls are happy to make it into the festival
Relaxing at the Beat Hotel bar, reveller Claire Parsons said she had been surprised by the traffic as she travelled from Kent.
She said: "We've always come on a Wednesday and it's never been an issue before.
"I've never known so many people arrive on a Wednesday.
"Normally it's very quiet and there's a build up – but it's almost like it's going full force already."
After darkness fell, festival-goers paused to watch as fireworks lit up the night sky, welcoming those who successfully made it to the festival site.
