A BEAUTY queen has died after a two-year-long battle with brain cancer aged just 22.

TRAGIC: Yumara was diagnosed while competing in Miss World
Stunning pageant contestant Yumara Lopez represented Nicaragua in the Miss World contest in 2014.
She discovered she had a grade two astrocytoma in the run-up to the international competition.
Despite her terminal illness she travelled to London to compete with contestants from 121 countries – including England hopeful Carina Tyrell.

Tyrell just missed out on the Miss World crown to South Africa and came in third place.
Nicaraguans are mourning Yumara after she died yesterday at the Alejandro Davila Bolanos Military Hospital in Managua.
The director of Miss World Nicaragua and her representative, Denis Davila, lamented her death, describing her as a "fighter".
Tributes have begun to pour in on social media from friends and admirers.
Joel Castillo wrote: "What sadness, you were one of the most beautiful people I have known and not for your appearance but because of your personality and character, thank you for the affection you've always shown me. A big hug until the sky."
Yumara was famously given her Miss World status when Maria Esther Cortes Molina renounced her crown.

It’s not the first tragedy to hit the pageant world.
Last year Austria’s beauty queen hopeful died after plunging off the side of a mountain in a tragic running accident.
Miss Great Britain 2016 was de-crowned after she was filmed having sex on TV.
