SALOMON RONDON scored the winner for minnows Venezuela as they stunned Uruguay in the Copa America.
Luis Suarez was ruled out of the match through injury and his country are now on the brink of exiting the tournament.
Venezuela started the match fast and looked lively against their lacklustre opponents.
And the goal came when Alejandro Guerra shot from just inside the Uruguay half and almost caught goalkeeper Fernando Muslera out.
He managed to tip the ball onto the crossbar but West Brom striker Rondon followed up to give Venezuela an unlikely lead.
And the South American minnows, more famous for baseball than football, were determined to hang on in the second half.
Edinson Cavani tried his best to get his side back in the match but missed a series of chances including a one-on-one effort from well inside the penalty area which he somehow put wide.
And Suarez was seen on the sidelines warming up causing confusion among fans.
But news eventually reached the Barcelona striker that he was ineligible to play as Uruguay had reigstered him as being injured.
