Prince was treated for a 'drug overdose' six days before his death


PRINCE was reportedly treated for a drug overdose last week – just days before the singer’s death.

The singer's private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Illinois last Friday just hours after a performance in Atlanta.
His representatives said he was battling the flu, however there were questions about the truth of that as his plane was reportedly just 48 minutes away from home.
Multiple sources in Moline, where the plane made the unscheduled stop, told TMZ the icon was rushed to a hospital where he was given a 'save shot'.

A 'save shot' is given by doctors to counteract the effects of an opiate.
Sources added that medical professionals advised Prince to stay in hospital for 24 hours.
But he was reportedly released three hours after arriving and then flew home.

His team are said to have demanded a private room, however that wasn't possible which is why they left earlier than recommended.
According to TMZ, the 57-year-old "was not doing well" when he checked out of hospital.
Now, authorities in Minnesota are trying to get hospital records from Moline to help establish the cause of death.

Since the news of his untimely death broke, fans and fellow celebrities have shared their respect for the musical legend.
