Does 'ball of fire' clip show the final moments of doomed EgyptAir MS804 flight crash?

THOUSANDS have been watching a clip of a fireball allegedly soaring over Greece which was uploaded to Facebook hours after the EgyptAir MS804 flight disappeared.


And just hours later, this clip appeared under the title "Ball of fire in the sky last night".
The MS804 flight had been travelling from Paris to Cairo when all communication with air traffic control was cut and it failed to land.

It did not send a distress signal.

But now thousands have been sharing a chilling video uploaded to Facebook believing it to show a soaring fireball travelling across the sky over Greece.

The user made no connection between the "Ball of fire in the sky last night" which they claim to have seen in Greece with the missing plane, however.
But it was uploaded some five hours after the jet was believed to have disappeared.
Since it was posted on Twitter it was swiftly picked up by social site Reddit - on a live feed that had 2,000 live readers per minute before it stopped updating.

Twitter user Ethan wrote: "Well it's been picked up by the Reddit live thread now. Thousands just saw that video." 
Many commented under the video it should be passed on to the authorities for investigation.

But despite the growing interest, within hours all comments were wiped.
EgyptAir have been quick to deny rumours that the plane has crashed and is still referring to the plane as "lost".
But it has been pointed out that the footage looks strikingly similar to footage of Russia space debris seen soaring over the skies over a year ago.
