Mum dies saving her baby girl from oncoming HGV smash: Tragic Lauren hailed as a hero

A MUM was killed as she tried to push her baby girl out of the way of a lorry.

Lauren Heath was pushing little Millie in her pram when the tragedy happened.
Lauren was hit by the truck and killed instantly as she tried to thrust her daughter to safety.
But Millie, who will be one next week, was pulled out alive from underneath the lorry with just minor injuries.
Lauren, who was in her early 20s, lived with her mother, known as Boo, and dad David, in Reading, where the accident happened.

A family statement said: “Our daughter was such an amazing girl and the best mummy to Millie.
“She was her world and we are proud that at the last time in her life, she saved her baby girl.”
Family and friends paid tribute on social media to the mum, who had her daughter’s name and birth date, tattooed over her heart.
Friend Natasha Turner said: “Millie is just days away from her first birthday, which Lauren had been so excited about.”

Lisa Marie Bowden said: “It’s tragic what happened, everyone is devastated.
“You didn’t deserve to leave us this young! You’re a hero for saving your beautiful Millie.”
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said they were investigating the tragedy and appealing for witnesses.
No arrests had been made in relation to the tragedy last night.
