IT’S not surprising that the world champion has a strict diet and fitness regime.
The man behind featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s diet has revealed what he eats before a workout.
Sharing his top nutrition advice, Georges Lockhart explained that it’s better to fill up on protein rather than carbs before hitting the gym.
He explained: "It's funny because there's a common misconception that our body's primary source of fuel is carbohydrate.
“It's not. Our body's primary source of fuel is fat, when we're in an aerobic state. That's what my body will use when my muscles have oxygen."
Georges continued: "What I need to do is unlock certain energy compartments.
"When I'm doing something anaerobic like a workout I will burn carbohydrate as a primary source of fuel.
"Well I need to unlock that, because it's stored as glycogen. How do I release that glycogen? I take in protein."
eorges also tells his clients to have a spoonful of honey before pumping iron. But his number one health tip is pretty simple – to stay hydrated.
He said: “Water. It’s not sexy.”
