FORMER Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has hinted that he wants to return to the Premier League after becoming a free agent in the summer.
The 35-year-old left Greek side PAOK in June, but believes he still has enough left in the tank to perform at the highest level in English football.“When you've played in the Premier League you don't want to play anywhere else," he told the BBC’s Mark Chapman last night.“It would be great for me [to be back in the Premier League], my only thing is to entertain and, as some football players have shown, there is no age in football.THE SECOND COMING: Berbatov said he's keen for a move back to the Premier League“Sportspeople die twice – when you finish your career and then at the end of your life – so hopefully I’m not there yet.”The Bulgarian goal machine found the net 27 times in 70 appearances for Spurs, before making a big-money move to Manchester in 2008 for £31m.Over the next four years, Berba scored 56 times in 149 games for the Red Devils before spending two seasons at Fulham.GOAL MAN: Berbatov found the net 27 times in 70 games for Spurs"In this stage of my career I know where I am - I would happily play for a team where they use my experience and my knowledge,” he continued.“I can help young players develop and make the team stronger. In the end it's all about helping the team play."Berbatov’s former club Tottenham tasted defeat for the second time in this season’s Champions League competition last night.
