A HERD of hippos were filmed savagely attacking a lone crocodile in the swamp.
The dramatic footage shows a huge number of the beasts surrounding a croc.
At first it’s not possible to see the dangerous reptile, with the giant bodies submerging the creature underwater.
One hippo is seen opening his mouth in agony as the croc launches its powerful jaws at him.
But when the croc surfaces, it finds itself surrounded.
Two of the hippos sink their teeth into its body.
The incredible footage ends before we are shown the outcome of the fierce battle and there is no indication of where it took place.
But in the caption of the clip, it says the croc was killed as a result.
Since being uploaded to YouTube, more than 2.2million people have watched the battle between two of nature’s most powerful creatures.
One user commented: “He [the croc] f***** up big time going in their hood like that – they massacred him!”
Another added: “Never thought I would feel bad for a crocodile until now.”
It comes after a massive 17ft croc also found itself in a sticky situation after getting stuck in a canal.
The giant beast was so heavy it needed a JCB digger to help it move.
