MEDICAL: Sadio Mane is set to join Liverpool
The Reds have agreed a £30m fee with their Premier League rivals and will discuss personal terms with the Senegal international when he arrives on Merseyside.
Press Association understand Mane could complete his move to Anfield by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Mane will become manager Jurgen Klopp's fourth signing after agreeing deals for midfielder Marko Grujic, centre-back Joel Matip and goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The Senegal forward has penned a five-year deal at Anfield and becomes the Kop's third-highest transfer.
He has been handed the No.19 shirt for next season.
Boss Jurgen Klopp has been a long-time admirer of the 24-year-old and turned to him after Mario Gotze decided to stay at Bayern Munich.
On arriving at Anfield, Mane said: "I knew Liverpool were interested in me, I had some [other] opportunities, but I think for me this is the right club, the right coach and the right moment to change.
“I am very happy to be a part of Liverpool Football Club.
“He [Klopp] said he wanted me to come to play for Liverpool. I didn’t even have to ask myself, I said straight away ‘yes, I am interested’ because I know Liverpool.
“I am convinced Liverpool are the right club for me with the right coach.”
Some reports suggested that Liverpool were set to pay a club-record £38m fee with all the add-ons included but they are adamant he will cost just £30m.
Mane has attracted the likes of Manchester United last season as he starred in Ronald Koeman's swashbuckling saints side.
His deal becomes Southampton's biggest-ever sale, eclipsing Luke Shaw's £27m move to Manchester United.
