DUTCH capital Amsterdam was plunged into chaos as cops arrested two people after a bomb scare at the city's main airport.
Amsterdam's Schipol airport was in lockdown overnight after hundreds were evacuated due to a "suspicious situation" which was followed by the arrests of two men – one in the airport and another a train station just 20 minutes away.
Swarms of armed police and passengers could be seen crowded outside the terminal buildings shortly after 9.30pm local time.
It later emerged that the Sheraton Hotel adjacent to the building was also evacuated due to a "suspicious situation".

Passengers took to social media to share pictures of the chaotic scenes.
One Twitter user referred to the incident as a "terrorism" threat.
She wrote: "S*** just got real. There is a high terrorism threat at Schiphol Amsterdam airport. That's exactly where I am right now."
The terrifying scenes came as Europe is on high security alert as French and Belgian officials seek to capture the final suspected terrorists involved in the Paris massacre and more recent Belgium attacks which saw 34 killed in twin airport and train station bombings.
Pictures of a bearded and exhausted looking Salah Abdeslam — the mastermind of the Paris attacks – emerged yesterday.
Sullen and tired, the 26-year-old French national looked a far cry from the smiling wannabe jihadi pictured before the Paris attacks.

Police spokesman Alfred Ellwanger yesterday said that "around 9:45 pm (1945 GMT) a man was arrested on the square in front of the main entrance to the airport's plaza".
"The bomb disposal squad is also on the scene and they are checking the man's luggage," he sdded.
Officials have yet to confirm if the arrest at the airport was linked to a later arrest at a train station.

The second arrest appears to have been made at Leiden Central Station about a 20-minute train ride from the airport, according to Ministry of Justice and Security spokesman Lodewijk Hekking.
The incident comes a month after co-ordinated terror attacks in Brussels, capital of Holland's neighbour Belgium, killed 35 people.
