Mboro – who claimed to have had photos with the angels - wanted 5000 South African rand for his story.
Before long the internet was laughing at the preacher, though some Christians were just outraged.
So the preacher changed his tone, and started requesting just 2000 rand (£93) for his photos from heaven.
"I see many want to bring Mboro down," he later wrote. "Its true a prophet is not respected in their country."

When he was mocked even more, he warned his critics that "the sky is watching" and then ascended to heaven again.
He said: "Last night it happened again! Oh this is wonderful! I actually sang with angels and took selfies together. This is a must see!"
News website All Africa reported further comments from Mboro claiming that Jesus had a hot, young wife from the Xhosa ethnic group.
Another update claimed the pastor had again been to heaven and that Lazarus is now "fat and healthy" – causing another uproar.

He later warned: "Life is funny. While others go to hell for Murder , some will go to the same hell for despising Mboro."
If you thought it couldn't get any stranger, think again, because soon Mboro was warning off his female fans.
"The ladies busy sending me nudes i will expose you tonight," he pledged. "I will mention your names and attach your photos!"
He then started another page and requested single ladies – aged 16 to 30 only – provide contact details so he could pray for them to meet a dream man.
