A COUPLE were rushed to hospital in Brazil after crashing while having sex.

The unnamed pair were seriously injured after hitting two cars and a lorry before overturning.

Witnesses told paramedics the casualties, a 36-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, had been engaging in sexual activity before the accident.

The knickers the injured woman should have been wearing were found inside the car.

The accident happened in an area of the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba called Agua Verde.

Photos published locally showed a black Volkswagen Gol the couple had been in on its roof by a lorry which a courier had parked up to deliver a parcel, along with the knickers on the front seat of the car.

One witness told a local paper: "The lorry driver was returning from dropping off the parcel when the car smashed into his vehicle.

"The couple's belongings were all over the place including her knickers..

"Firefighters had to help her out of the car so she wasn't so exposed. The man that was with her was all over the place."

It is not known what the extent of the pair's injuries were.

Police are understood to be investigating the accident but were not able to confirm the cause.
