LIVERPOOL decided against signing Sadio Mane - because his stats were not deemed good enough by a computer.
His red hot displays have impressed a host of Europe’s top sides, including the likes ofManchester United.
German footy expert Raphael Honigstein claims Liverpool could have bagged Mane before he joined the south coast side.
He reports the Senegalese was offered to the Reds, but they turned down the player after their internal data analytics suggested he wouldn’t prove value for money.
Liverpool’s numbers clearly didn’t add up, as Mane is now valued at close to £30m.
United failed with a £20m bid for his services last summer, but United could come back again with a bigger offer at the end of the season.
