POP star Rihanna has found herself at the centre of a safety scare, after her New York home suffered a security breach during her recent trip to the city.
The Work singer enjoyed a brief stop-off at her Soho apartment in Manhattan due to a string of local concerts as part of her Anti World tour.
Despite being in the city for only a couple of days, the chart-topper's home was the target of an attempted break-in.
On Monday afternoon an unnamed 29-year-old man tried to break into RiRi's swanky property, though failed to gain entry to her apartment due to the building's impressive security measures.
The trespasser was not arrested – instead he was allowed to leave without police questioning.
It is thought Rihanna was not at the address at the time, though naturally her team are taking no risks.
A source close to the star told Daily Star Online: "Police were called to the Rihanna's apartment after someone tried to enter her building without permission.
"Luckily she was out of the property but the incident will not doubt be a concern for her security team.
"Her bodyguard spoke to two officers and the building's doorman about the incident – he was keen to stress the severity of the matter.
"Rihanna is a huge star, naturally her safety is the priority, especially as she has had stalkers in the past."
The New York Police Department confirmed an incident took place at Rihanna's home, stating: "On April 4, 2016 at 1400 hours there was a report for criminal trespass for a person entering the building unlawfully.
"No arrest was made – the investigation is ongoing."
This isn't the first time Rihanna has suffered a security scare.
In June last year, a man was reportedly arrested after he tried to gain entry into to the same apartment building.
While in 2014, a 53-year-old homeless man was also arrested after he was caught "delivering eerie messages" to her home.
