THESE dramatic images show the aftermath of a major runway accident at an airport after two planes collided during takeoff.
The pictures have emerged after Batik Air Boeing 737 appears to have crashed into a Trans Nusa ATR 72 as it tried to take off from Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta.
The Batik Air flight ID7703 was at the end of the runway when its wing reportedly snapped off as a result on the smash today (Monday).
The Boeing 737 was en route to Ujung Pandang in East Sulawesi.
Passenger Tunas Kelapa tweeted: "Dodged another bullet there at Halim. Could be worse much worse."
Gosh we really dodged a bullet there. No report on any casualty. #Indoflyer pic.twitter.com/2ew1enenMr— TunasKelapa (@ArvinTunas) 4 April 2016
All 49 passengers and seven crew members were evacuated via the plane's emergency slide.
There have been no reports of casualties and the cause of the crash is not yet known.
