Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Jose Mourinho has made Real Madrid stars James Rodriguez and Raphael Varane his top transfer targets for Manchester United.
Mourinho is expected to replace Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford hotseat this summer, althoughUnited are continuing to back the Dutchman.
He is likely to oversee a squad overhaul after a disappointing campaign for the Red Devils.
Varane and Rodriguez are rated highly by the former Chelsea boss, despite both struggling for playing time at the Bernabeu this season.
Branislav Ivanovic could leave Chelsea this summer as the Blues look to seal a deal for Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to the Mirror.
Nainggolan is understood to be a top target for incoming boss Antonio Conte, but the Stamford Bridge outfit are unwilling to meet Roma’s valuation of £36m for the 27-year-old Belgium international.
They are however open to a swap deal involving Ivanovic, with Roma chief Walter Sabatini understood to be a great admirer of the Serbian defender.
Ivanovic joined the Blues in 2008 and has gone on to win every major domestic honour during his time in west London.
The 23-year-old has impressed for Sporting Lisbon this term, scoring five goals and making nine assists in 29 league appearances.
He is contracted to the Portuguese giants until 2020 and has a staggering release clause of £55m.
United sent scouts to watch Mario in action during Portugal’s friendly with Luxembourg back in November.
