The Catalan giants have reportedly won the race to sign Umtiti from Lyon after the 22-year-old agreed to a move to the La Liga Champions.
However, they are yet to agree financial terms with his current club, Lyon, who are expected to demand €30m as he is currently contracted until 2019.

The French star had attracted the eye of a host of European teams with West Ham, Tottenham and Chelsea all said to have been keen on a move for the defender, but have ultimately lost out to the Spanish giants.
Barcelona see Umtiti the ideal man to replace Marc Batra, providing effective competition to both fellow country-man Jeremy Mathieu and Gerard Pique.
Umtiti himself is currently with the French squad for the European Championships although not currently in the starting frame, falling behind Adil Rami and Laurent Koscielny.
The centre-back had managed to make 34 appearances for Lyon last season and featured in the Champions League against the likes of Zenit and Valencia.
The terms between the 22-year-old and Barca have been reported to have been agreed on Friday, meaning only a deal between both clubs is required for the transfer to be completed.
