Chelsea dealt major transfer blow: Target signs new long-term deal

YANNICK CARRASCO has dealt a blow to Chelsea's transfer plans by signing a new contact with Atletico Madrid.

 Atletico confirmed today that Carrasco has penned fresh terms on a deal that will keep him at the club until 2022.

The Belgium international told the club's official website: "I am very happy to stay at Atletico for many more years."
Atletico have been hoping to tie down Carrasco to a new contact for some time to ward off interest from Chelsea.
The Mirror claimed earlier this month that the Blues had made the 23-year-old a potential target for the summer transfer window.
Carrasco has emerged as one of Europe's most exciting players and scored five goals and assisted five more in 43 appearances for Atleti last season.
The forward’s most notable achievement to date was scoring in their Champions League final defeat to rivals Real last season.
