Paul Merson: This is why Liverpool won't beat Crystal Palace

PAUL MERSON is predicting a tight affair when Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace tomorrow.
By Jamie Styles
Liverpool go into to the game at Selhurst Park joint-top of the Premier League, behind Arsenal and leaders Manchester City only on goal difference.
Meanwhile Alan Pardew's Eagles have hit something of a slump with defeats to Leicester and West Ham in their last two games.

Jurgen Klppp's Liverpool are currently joint-top of the Premier League
But the Reds have a poor recent record against Palace, winning just one of their last five top-flight meetings.
And Merson has tipped their east London hoodoo to continue tomorrow, although he does expect Jurgen Klopp's side to extend their 10-game unbeaten run to 11 matches.

Predicting a 1-1 draw, the former Arsenal star told Sky Sports: "Everybody is talking Liverpool up as contenders for the title but a trip to Palace is a stiff examination of their credentials.
"Alan Pardew seems to be one of those managers that blows hot and cold because his side either win six on the trot or lose six.

"The defeat at Leicester was their second on the bounce and they face a big test themselves on Saturday.

"If Palace defend like they did at Leicester, they won't get anything from this game but they're a better team than the last two games and will take something from this match."
