That’s according to Squawka, who say the Armenia international is determined to prove he has the work ethic to succeed at Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan linked up with the Red Devils in a whopping £30m deal from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
But, despite being one of the four men Mourinho specifically targeted after succeeding the sacked Louis Van Gaal in May, his time in England has not gone to plan.
He’s so far started just one Premier League game - September’s defeat to Manchester City - and he was left out of the squad which took on Burnley last weekend.
Pictures of the 27-year-old leaving Manchester United’s Carrington training base on Sunday led to claims he had been made to work alone.
However, amid speculation that he could be moved on in January, Squawka suggest Mkhitaryan trained on his own voluntarily.

The playmaker’s lack of game time has understandably left him off the pace in match fitness terms.
Although he is keen to remedy that by taking on the extra training himself and thus force his way into Mourinho’s first-team picture.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk star is said to have an eye on a place in the Portuguese boss’ team to face Fenerbahce in the Europa League this Thursday.
